Meet your Guides
Your tour guides are well known Australian birders Richard Baxter & Phil Hansbro. They are both young (relatively!!!), fit & very knowledgeable about the local birds. They are extremely friendly, helpful & approachable.
Both have travelled extensively around the local region, Australia and its territories, seeing over 850 species. As well as an avid birder Richard is an exceptional organizer and will make sure that everything goes to plan on what ever trip you participate.
Phil was born in June 1965 & is originally from England. He has been in Australia on & off for the past 30 years & in Newcastle since November 1999. He has travelled extensively throughout Australia clocking up over 850 species. Phil holds special interests in both Seabirds and Waders. His high level identification expertise stems from working with these birds in Australia and in over 60 countries spanning every continent.
Through their considerable expertise both in Australia and abroad, your guides know habitats intimately. They know exactly where to look and what to look for, ensuring you will have a great time and maximise your experiences in any region.
Birding tours Australia is based in Newcastle, New South Wales, an easy 1.5hrs drive north of Sydney International Airport.
